The connection failed

Post by JeBizzle »

Hello,

Hopefully someone can help me. When I try to connect to a module that requires an adapter cable (e.g. ABS module using gray #6 adapter), I receive the failure message below. I believe that these modules are on the high-speed CAN bus, but I'm very new to this so I'm just guessing at this point. As stated below, I do have the SGW in my vehicle but am bypassing that with an SGW bypass from EuroCompulsion. I can toggle the horn/fan/headlights on and off, so I know that I have a proper connection and the SGW bypass is working. I am able to connect to the ECM and other modules that do not require an adapter cable without issues.
ELM327->ECU connection failed!
No response from module. Check if interface is properly connected to the vehicle and vehicle key is ON!

  • Adapter cables (green 1, red 2, yellow 3, purple 4, blue 5, gray 6)
Let me know if there is other information that you need.

Thanks,
