Electric steering connection failed - '08 Lancia Delta

Good morning,

I am using MES 3.7 and an ELM 327 + A1 adapter to connect to the electric steering of a 2011 Lancia Delta 1.4 Multiair. When I try to connect, I receive the following message:

CONNECTION FAILED
ELM 327 -> ECU Connection failed!
Check your cable and serial port settings!

Please note that I can connect (with the same cable, PC and MES) to CAN Info and read the data, so I think the serial port is configured well.

What would you suggest me to try in order to succeed in the connection?

Update: the problem seems to be solved, today I tried again and it worked. I think that the connector of the adapter has a poor quality construction, so it is necessary to push it well on the car connector.
