Alfa 147 2.0 T.S. odometer

Post by Brian's Alfa »

Had to replace my gauge cluster (with a second hand unit) because the odometer must have burnt out. Now it's flashing but the kms are obviously wrong. It's about 45,000 less now. Will I be able to revert the numbers to the correct amount through the Parameters of Multiecuscan 3.9?

MES is *ONLY* able to *increase* odometer values. As your new/replacement unit is reading 45K low then you will be able to increase to the correct value. To get rid of the flashing then you will need to do a proxy alignment as well.

I'm currently using the Bluetooth interface and according to the Users Guild (for Version 1.0), it's not recommended to use this with special functions like Proxi Alignment. So, looks like my choices are either upgrade my hardware or cough up the money and have an Alfa mechanic do it for me?

OBDLink / ELM interfaces are not that expensive.

Personally for doing any "sensitive" stuff like proxi, key coding, etc then I would always use a hardwired interface.

Thanks for the advice and info, it's very much appreciated. I'll do some shopping and upgrade my hardware. It'll be better for me and my Alfa in the long run anyway.
