A500 ECU in a Panda 100HP
A500 ECU in a Panda 100HP
Planning on doing a swap on the little Panda to an A500 engine but I am curious. Can the A500 ECU be proxy aligned with the rest of the modules in the car or do they have different standards for communication (i.e. different encoding of messages across the CAM bus)?

Bus communication is the same, the problem is that the body will not recognize it as the appropriate control unit.

Not to sound like a complete noob, but would you happen to know why? I am curious if it is possible to program it to understand that it is the main computer. Otherwise, Can I use a body module from 500? The body module is in the fusebox, right?
Thanks for the reply btw

The 500 bodycomputer is very different to the one installed in the Panda.Pandamime wrote:Not to sound like a complete noob, but would you happen to know why? You should ask a few garage if there are programmable universal aftermarket control units.
Re: A500 ECU in a Panda 100HP
From what I have seen, people use the stock ecu of the panda for the body controls and an aftermarket ecu for the engine management. I, to be honest, dont trust any shops that would do this properly in Ireland unless I go to Pro-Alfa in UK. I will do some more research on the body computer and stuff.

I think it's the only alternative ...Pandamime wrote:From what I have seen, people use the stock ecu of the panda for the body controls and an aftermarket ecu for the engine management.
