Only 16 pin Male/Female connectors available?

Friends,
You would have probably experienced the difficulties regarding some times very odd location of OBD/EOBD in your car. To attach the device some times you may have to open a box or cover etc, which is very tedious. If such plain connectors are available, then we may try to make an extension of the OBD port at our convenient place on the dash or elsewhere. This may help us easily attaching the Scan tool (say Bluetooth/USB type) or we may keep it attached permanently and check the car health as and when we wish.
If such connectors are available, please let me know the cost and resources link/contacts specially in India.
