Post by johnnyferrari »

Hi all,
I'm italian and, then, sorry me for my incorrectly english.
I have a fiat punto III 1.9 jtd 2004 and would like to use multiecuscan to reset errors.
What cable do i use?
I've seen a photo with 4 clabes (i post you the photo)
Image
Cable 1 is OBD cable
Cables 2 are adapters
Cable 3 is KL cable
Cable 4 is 16 pin cable
Right?
The table for my car is the following:

Therefore, what cable do i use for reset errors in my car?

Hi,

You could look at the legend at the top of the page from where you get the table for your car.
Anyway in order to connect to the engine - you will need either cable 1 or 3, where cable 1 is represente as green ELM tag and cable 3 is represented as blue KL tag.

The adapters are used alongisde cable 1 or 3 in order to connect to other control modules of your car, like ABS or Airbag.

Also take in mind that there a lot of faulty cheap ELM 327 interfaces (cable 1), so you should probably look into that topic too.
I guess that cable 3 does not suffer from such problems.

Hi KoCMoHaBTa,
First of all, thanks for your answer. I'll buy the kl cable
I want to ask another question...
The version of my multiecuscan is 1.4. It's okay?
Therefore, i need the following things to reset errors:
1-pc
2-multiecuscan 1.4
3-kl cable
Exact?

Yes, it should be ok.
You can also download the latest version (2.8) from the web site.
