Hello

Remove the Resistor in the red Frame
then you can read the CAN Bus from your Alfa 159

What should I remove from this ELM to have acces to ABS and everything else (besides the ENGINE)? Is that the resitor, between the CAN lines? Thank you.

ello

First of all, what vehicle you want to read ?????

Because very often have connection problems not related to the bridge resistor.

The red marked from you is the bridge resistor Resistor

Hi Eddy,

I don't have connection problems, I understood that if you remove some resistor you may be able to read all ECUs (ABS, engine, Airbag, climate etc). That's why I am asking

Would it be better to use a switch and connect all the pins as described on the diagrams on multiecuscan? 7 for engine, 12 for ABS etc etc?

Auslesen kannst. Gruß Eddy
Hello IrBabuin

So with you it is not a connection problem

For ABS You have the pin 7 also set Pin 1
Either with or adapter cable with switch

And your 156 does not have CAN bus, so you need the resistor bridges
not to remove.

Can you do but, it brings no disadvantages

And if you einbaust a switch, you should make sure
the pin is 1 + 9 is not connected to other pins.
So when you need, also Giulietta or Mito read completely via CAN bus.
Can read.

OK, thanks AlfaEddy, I will use a switch to conect the correct pins to serial converter

I dig now the modification, for CAN vehicles you remove the termination resistor (120ohms) and the signals pass through to ELM-type chip. Neat.
