Hi All,
I'm new here, and have a question about using Multieuscan to diagnose a fault with Selespeed transmission. Basically, the car is sometimes not engaging gear on startup, and occasionally either slipping out of gear while driving or sticking in a gear. I get the Selespeed light flashing, so have checked fluid level and all ok.
When I first connected, I found the 4 errors shown in the screenshot, and cleared them and not seen anything come back since, but it's still definitely not working.
To help with a diagnosis, which Parameters should I be looking at? I've done some of the Actuator tests, and they're a little bit hit and miss, so not sure what's actually going on.
I only have the free version of Multieuscan, so am limited in what I can actually check and change, but would be happy to purchase the full version if that would help.
Thanks for any help you guys can provide. I'd really like to try and diagnose this a bit more than take it straight to a mechanic, as money is a bit tight at the moment!
Cheers

Re: 2002 156 Selespeed Question
I have just been out and taken some more screenshots, and found more errors as per attached.
I have also encountered the problem again just after starting the car:
Started Car, put into 1st then reverse, and Selespeed warning light flashes and stuck in R gear, then went to N, and not able to change gears at all. Selespeed light still flashing.
Prior to that, I had tested all the Actuators, with the following results:
Pump Motor - approx 1-2 seconds
Starter Relay - no obvious clicking
Low Gears - 3 clicks & 3 smaller clicks
High Gears - As above though quieter
Even Number - started in 1st loud thunk then went to 2nd
Odd Numbers - started in N, loud thunk and went to 3rd
Engaged gear - started in 3rd, went to N
Clutch - Click
Acoustic Signal - ok
I was able to manually change up through all and back down again, including N and R....then when the car was started, it crapped out again. I have screenshots, of all of the Parameters, including some after while the fault was apparent, but not sure if I'm heading in the right direction with investigation or not.

Re: 2002 156 Selespeed Question
Hello Lethal29
With so many errors in the memory I would suggest first after contact problems in the connector (20 pin).
The make from time to time problems when the plug too deeply depends in the engine compartment and splash water coming off.
In addition, the battery should be charged well. Many errors can come from undervoltage

Thanks for your reply. Firstly, the batter is quite new, and was showing 11.77 V when I first connected cable. Is that about right? I assume it should be around 12V?
Secondly, which connector and plug are you talking about? Something in the engine compartment? Sorry, I don't understand.
Thanks again.

Hello
I mean the large connector that connects the Selespeed unit with the vehicle.

Ok, thanks Eddy, I'll try and find that and give it a clean and make sure it's seated correctly.Alfaeddy wrote:Hello
