Well, I had a problem with a Chinese VAG had grounded only on pin 4, when it is also necessary in 5 to Fiat. See if your signal is between the two.

I sent a PM to cxem to ask if it has some photos of obd plug. Tonight I check with a tester if pins 4 and 5 are connected. If not, I can try to short the two pins and see if it starts to "talk" with the fiat ECU, but in the schema is reported that are also not connected the J1850 and this 2 pins are used on fiat ecu (obd pin 2 and 10):

Similar or identical? Your cover is removable (locked with screws) or glued? Can you post some photos?

For waltomatic: I have not tested, but looking at the diagram shows pins 4 and 5 both grounded. I'll let you know tonight!

As expected, pins 4 and 5 are shorted. There is no impedance between pin 2 and 10 and between them and the negative (2-4,10-4), even with a full scale of 200MOhm, therefore, even if there is a wire connected, this does not lead to anything. I do not know what else to do besides return

I have another doubt about this scanner on the K-Line. On the original elm327 there must be only R1,2,4,5 and T2 (referred to the component of the cxem schema), but in this scanner there are also other 2 resistances and another transistor. Is this normal? This could cause problems with the k-line?
