Linux

Post by eggie »

Has anyone managed to get MulitECUscan to work in Linux with Wine, Mono or any other emulator system? I have just tried it but it is not doing anything but sulk in the corner.

If you have, please can you let me know how you did it.

Thanks

I've not deliberately looked at the MultiECUScan binary but I'm pretty sure it is pure .NET (as .NET is a requirement) and the Linux support for .NET significantly lags behind current versions. Also, regardless of .NET support MultiECUScan could/may be making direct windows API calls to achieve/perform certain functions.

I've written some .NET based application (based purely on .NET 3.5) and many fail to run under Linux (with Wine etc etc) and I've used nothing more than is available in the MS Visual Studio Express editions.

Some good future news though!

Recently MS have open sourced their .NET (Visual Studio Community 2013) code base so I'm thinking/hoping Linux/MAC/etc will be soon able to run all .NET applications.
