Connection problem on a 2.4 brera

Post by Morkey »

Downloaded the registered version of Multiscan and have an ELM 327 interface says it supports all OBD11 protocols on the front it has five lights on it when plugged into the pC one is alight.

on the dashboard I scan for an interface but nothing is recognised

I physically have tried the listed interfaces but it says interface or com setting are not detected or words to nthat effect

when scanning for an interface there doesn't seem to be a com port listed if I list one its not recognised

in the windows 8 hardware printer folder the interface is shown but needs a driver

Help where do I go from here a different interface somehow set a port or get a driver

Windows 8 requires "signed" drivers and will not install un-signed drivers.

See here for how to get around this restriction. See: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/di ... -windows-8

As for the actual driver you require will depend on the internal chipset of your ELM device. Most often use the FDTI chipset so you could try the FDTI drivers here: http://www.ftdichip.com
