Interface problems

Post by Mick J »

Hi I'm very much a new boy to this OBD milarky, so please be gentle

I can connect successfully when clicking on engine all the parameters are displayed as expected

But I get failed to connect message when trying to connect ABS, service and CAN and advice to check connections and port configurations or words to that effect. I'm using ELM 1.4 (which I'm assured by the supplier to be compatible with Multiecuscan) and the free version of Multiecuscan. i have the green, red, yellow and purple plug sets. I used the green adapter cable with ABS. I used the yellow adapter cable with CAN as per instruction with the lead set, although the compatibility chart on the website does not call for this, if i'm reading it correctly? Also the compatibility chart allows adjustment with the fee version but in demo mode it says not available in free version, disappointing after wading through all those puzzling charts and codes! When I use test in settings for the comports it come back all Ok with the message "this interface is compatible with ELM 327 1.4! should connect properly with all Can models" the baud rate is 38400 and the high latency is unchecked. Any body have any thoughts as to what the problem is?
