Hello Eddy!
Thanks for the quick reply.

Wish to test an 2004 Alfa 166 2.4JTDm 175HP automatic. The Aisin gearbox was quite a challenge so far. Nobody was able to access it's ECU... So i wanted to try myself just by curiosity.

Wish you a wonderful day!

Greetings,
Arheu

Hello Arheu

The red marked resistor from me has nothing to do with the connection difficulties
to do on your ASIN gear.

Since the transmission is not read in the Alfa 166 via CAN bus.

With your ELM you should without modification can not connect to the Alfa 166.
Since you have another mistake?
Settings?
Driver?
etc.

Hello gyrardengo

What control do you want to read? on your Punto?
For engine, ABS, you should also be able to read without modification.

Just to connect to the instrument panel, CAN setup, Bode computer and steering must be made may require a modification.
Since this control is read via CAN bus.

Do please have a picture of the back of your board

Hello

I wrote it several times already, but I can not help with vehicles afford not to read with Multiecuscan or AlfaOBD.

Your Peugot 307 is not to read me Multiecuscan, so it may be in your error to a resistor problem.

Thanks again Eddy!
After the removal of the resistor that you have indicated i noticed just that a new serial line appeared in Windows/Control Panel/System/Device Manager (instead of one COM there were two). My Android Phone works the same and PC based softwares still can access only the engine ECU.
Will pay a visit to an Alfa Service...

Alfaeddy, is there any Bluetooth ELM 327 that doesn't need to be modified? Could you point me a model?
I want to turn off the service warning from my Fiat Punto.

Thanks!

Hello Rockambole

This is not a problem
This Bluetooth interface has been changed by the seller according to my information
And is to use so without modification.

Hi Yani,
I recently bought a chinese ELM327, and it seems a far more recent version than what I can find on this forum. However, I think (and measured) the 120 ohm resistor is still present between 6 and 14. As I get normal program display when connected, correct USB port too, but tha a message that it could not connect, I assume I still have to remove the 120ohm resistor (actually I measure 121 ohms, and it is in fact written on the SMD)? Is it the part , at the picture in the middle at the bottom side, below the 8-pin IC, similar to what you showed as IC3 on your very first explanation of nov 2009?
I want to use it on a Fiat Panda 4X4, 1100cc, 1996, with SPI and Weber-Marelli CPU, with the Fiat 3-pin connector cable. It is listed as useable with the ELM327... I realize it will only give limited information (rpm, ignition info,...)

of course, because of 1996...
Thanks for confirmation or correction.
