interfaces

Post by arjan »

Hello all,

As a newby i have a question. I have an interface for my AR 166. I can connect to the ABS/airbag and engine module.
After I bought the registerd key I also gotthe feature ICS and headlights but I cannot connect to these 2 modules... do I need another interface for these features? (other pins?)
and if where can i buy one?

Thnx

Hello Arian

To connect with your Headlamp, you need the same adapter
A1 (green) as the ABS in which the pin 12 is connected to.

What interface do you use?
KKL or ELM?

You may be not your Registierung completely

Hello Eddy,

Im not sure but I think its a KKL.
Why is it that i can connect to the ABS and not to the headlight? As it schould be the same pin.

And what do you mean with didnt register completely?

Hello arian

No ABS is on pin 1
and the
Headlamp is also pin 12

Your adapter must connect both pins to pin 7

@ arjan

Sometimes happen to that I can not connect to those to systems on Alfa 166. I do not know why that happening is. So it is not problem with your car or interface, I think it is a some kind of bug in software. Often happens to me that I can connect but only for 5-10 seconds and MES disconnect me by itself. Why does it do it? I do not know. I tried with other ELM/ KKL interfaces and no luck or disconnect me after 5 seconds.

Pin 1,3 and 7 are connected. so that schould be right???
So if I connect pin 12 to 7 it schould work? and there is no risk of breaking something like the ECU?

Hello

It is very risky that you have also connected to pin 3.
Yani does not recommend that.
The risk that you accidentally triggers your airbag is given by the fact.

This has also described so nobody.

It certainly has its reason why Yani for a
recommends separate adapter plug

If you believe that this really works??
It's your thing if you even try doing

Eddy , i bought this connector this way. what you suggest is to buy a new connector and than make just one connection lets say pin 12 to 7. Am i right?
