FAULTY ELM 327 INTERFACES DE-MYSTIFIED (READ HERE)
Re: FAULTY ELM 327 INTERFACES DE-MYSTIFIED (READ HERE)
Well your tool is the one that we "treat" here in this thread.
If you'll read a littel bit you'll see that you need to remove the rezistor (R04 in most of the cases) which is soldered ( as a bridge ) between MCP2551 pins 6 and 7
This rezistor it an "121" ( writed on it ) in your first pics.
I also indicated it in the pic here.
So removed first then repaly back with review
Good luck

Hello MattBreraMattBrera wrote:Anyone have any ideas as to where I can even start?MattBrera wrote:Hi Eddy,
I've bought a cheap cable from ebay - and its showing all OK on the tests, but when I try to connect to the car, I'm not having much luck.
I've got an Alfa Brera v6.
I'm not able to connect to any of the CAN bus interface.
The cable is showing as v1.5.
Any help would be appreciated - Thanks in advance.
Thanks
Why I can not view your pictures??
But Matty67 you replied yes.
Greetings Eddy

Thanks mattydr67 and yes thanks Eddy - that works perfectly.
Another question, would I be able to change/upload a new engine map via this interface? I'm trying to find a way to increase the rev limiter for first gear, as its a bit too low.
I'm happy to buy some programs that can do this. I tried a 'simulate' option via multiecuscan, but did not find this feature anywhere.
Thanks,
Matt

No
You cannot do this with this cheap tool
For what you want you need an external programmer, or a passthru interface or Fiat Examminer
With other words with a flashing tool
Good luck

Hi forum chaps,
I have the bundle shown in the pictures. It connect just fine with Torque on Android, but it does not connect with my Alfa GT ECU using MultiEcu Scan on Windows 7.
Any ideas please? I have searched this page, but did not find my exact model.

Hello
That you can not connect to Multiecuscan to your engine ECU
has nothing to do with the here-described problem.
Also to ABS (with adapter A1, green) should work in any case the connection.
But if you do the CAN setup. Service, proxy, etc. can not connect
Then drag from the top of the bottom board, (just fitted)
and make me another picture (with macro lens) from the inside of the board

Hello,
I have a ELM327 interface from "autowolf.nl", I can connect to all ECU's except the engine ECU. Do I need to remove a resistor?
Thx

What car, what ECU's did you connect?
Is that Ecu's on K-line or in CAN BUS?
Share more information
Good luck

Hello,
Alfa 159 1.9 8v mj 2008, dashbord, service, others, body, climate control, only engine not. Fault: no response.
It is a bit the same problem stefan has on page 47. I have the same interface. Alfafreddy said it should work without modifications.
I do not know if stefan found a solution
Thx
