Which Linear model? Engine? Diesel? Petrol? (and yes I know petrol engines don't normally have an oil lamp/degradation indicator)

In general ELM 327 interface should be fine with resetting OIL service message.

No that cable/device will not work.

If you are not using MultiECUScan software/hardware/cables then you will need another device to do what you want to do. Something like http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid= ... &_from=R40

Look at the prices!!!!!!!

You are far better off buying MultiECUScan which can do so much more!!!!!

As s130 wrote this cable is not good. It is good for only few older VAG/ BMW models and that is all.
On some older VAG/ BMW models you can reset service message manually.
Personally I think it is a shit. I can not believe that Chinese are still selling this crap...
It is better to go to some service and pay someone to reset service message for you than to buy this 5$ interface...
