Punto ECU not found

I have connected my laptop and selected a car from the list but no matter which vehicle I select it returns 'ECU not found'. My 1.2 Active 8v is not listed thus I am choosing any vehicle on the list.

Has anybody any knowledge of how to overcome this prob lem please?

Can you connect with other ECUS (systems) like ABS, airbag and others?
If your car is not in the list of MES than probably it is not supported...
But other systems like ABS, airbag and others should be more-less on the list.
By the way which year is your car (Fiat Punto 1.2 8V)?

In this case (54) the user's car was registered a new between 1 September 2004 and 28 February 2005

No basically the 54 plate date means that the vehicle was FIRST register in the 2004/2005 timeframe.

The vehicle could have been manufactured in say 2003 and stood around the docks / dealers for a year or more before being sold an registered.

Also in the UK it is possible to transfer licence plates BUT a license plate can not make a vehicle look younger than it actually is. You can not put a current 63 plate on a 2004 vehicle but you can put a 54 plate on a 62 vehicle.

In the UK to my knowledge, even going back to early 1900s you could not have a custom number plate, e.g. "my car", and even if you could they are very very very rare. For custom plates over here one has to buy a registered plate off another person or the DVL (UK licensing authority). The DVL keep valuable registration off general circulation so they can make more money at a later date.

I have the same type of car; Punto 1.2 8V, only my car is a MK2a (1999 - 2003).

I use an ELM 327 Bluetooth version, the circuitboard notes 'ELM327 ver 1.4a'

I removed the R04 resistor as Argo wrote in the 'de-mystified' topic. Since that moment I can use my phone with Torq app and read active, during driving. No errors shown.

When I use my laptop with multiecuscan it doesn't find the ECU. When I scan for connections, it detects a KKL line and testing the connection shows all is ok.

When I try to find the ECU, I keep getting notified: 'No ECU detected, check connection'

What to do? Or does the ELM need to be fixed for KKL communication?


Sorry for putting my situation in an active topic, but since this topic already is about a Punto 1.2 8V and without a solution...
