Please Help To Connect 156 JTS 2004

Hi Guys Ive been struggling to connect my 156 ECU to Multiecuscan (free trial) and I'm hoping for some help.

I'm using a switchable blue VAG/KKL USB cable (bought from Ebay)

I have installed the drivers on the laptop, and checked the port setting (COM 3)

Every time I try to connect to the ecu it fails to connect.

I have tested the Latency in the program and it states Min Latency 16ms Maximum latency 17ms (from memory.)

Is there something I'm missing? Desperately trying to figure out why I get the Engine Control Unit fault.

By the way, the key is in the on position, and it is a Manual car, not Sellespeed.

Hello

Which driver you have installed for this switchable KKL interface?
The drivers on the CD are sometimes outdated

Try to use this driver

The latency time should be set to 1 ms, which is normal to 16 ms.

And should the test for MES / settings / interface / test

Be higher than 10 ms. bottom right of the frame should be set a hook at "high latency mode".

In some cases, it also helps to select a different COM port.

Just try the different proposals

Hi Eddy Thanks for the quick reply. I will have another go with these new drivers, as I was using a driver from the CD that accompanied the KKL cable.

However I am unsure as to where to change the latency setting, where do I find that option?

Also I am using Windows 8. If it Makes a difference.

I do not know Windows 8
But on the home page of Multiecuscan is this that may Framework needs to be installed.

The latency time is set for other operating systems as follows.

Control Panel / Device Manager / comport / properties / advanced / Latency Time
Here, the value can be changed in a drop down box

Thanks so Far Eddy, Unfortunately Ive still had no luck in connecting to the ECU.

Here's what Ive tried since:

Updated to new Driver (64bit)
Adjusted latency to 1ms
Tried changing the com port (com port 1)

Still no luck.

Is there anything else I can try?

Sorry forgot to mention Ive also installed the up to date Framework for windows 8
