Fiat Palio 1.9 TD JTD

Post by Wheely »

Hi,
my mother has a 2001 Fiat Palio 1.9 TD or JTD (don`t know exactly) and she has some Problems with the Airbagsystem. The Car has a 3Pin Connector for the Motor ECU. After a look at the supported Vehicles, i think i need such a Interface Adapter http://www.ebay.de/itm/151016677380?ssP ... 1439.l2649 . Is that right and will that works?.

Thank you for your response

OK! I can see link now. Yes this package is OK.
In general for your Fiat Palio you need KKL interface (or VAG 409.1 how it is called) and 3 pin adaptor.
You do not need additional adaptors: A1, A2 and A3. If you do plan to use it on other Italian cars than other 3 adaptors (A1, A2 and A3) will be helpful. ;)

Hello

How alfa156sarajewo already wrote! :D
It is only the switchable KKL interface and the 3 pin adapter needed.
The adapter (green, red, yellow) are not required.

I have to write why he Sold this package as the seller of times?

Hi,
today the interface arrived. I have one Question. I must only use the 3Pin Adapter Cable and which switch must i select on the Interface?. When i want to connect to the Airbagsystem, i must use switch Nr. 3 (called Airbag), right?.
But on the supported Vehicle List is a information that called : "PLEASE NOTE: For the old (non-EOBD) vehicles with 3-pin diagnostic connector you need UNMODIFIED interface with 3-pin adapter.". What means unmodifified interface?, are that interfaces without switches and so i can`t use this interface that i bought?.

Hello

Alfa156sarajevo and I had already written it
Is a switchable KKL interface for vehicles need the a 3 pin adapter not required.

On your link I wrote that the offer with the switchable KKL with 3 adapters (green, red, yellow) makes no sense.

When using a 3 pin adapter, the KKL interface has switchable on
the No. 7 position stand.

Since you use to access through transfer it to the controller in question.
Thus, a changeover switch is not necessary.

When you have VAG cable with a mini switch on it, and you want to use 3 pin adapter for some other cars, please set the VAG interface on pin 7 (engine) - and do not move it.
So you set mini switch on pin 7 of your VAG interface, connect your 3 pin adapter on it, and than you can use it like that for all systems like abs and airbag (for older cars which have only that 3 pin connector).
No need to move switch on VAG interface. No need to set it on pin 3 or pin 1 on your VAG interface.
Just keep it fixed on pin 7 of VAG interface when you using 3 pin adapter.

Hi,
i did it and everythink was fine. I could connect to all three ECU (ABS,Airbag and Motor). So i could delete the faultcode of the Airbag (low power supply).
Thanks for you advise.
