Hello!

I recently bought an ELM327 interface. I tried to connect to my car (FIAT New Bravo 1.9 Multijet 16V) with MultiECUScan. The software only found and was able to connect to my engine ECU - everything worked flawlessly. I would like to connect to the CAN modules of the machine. As far as I am concerned from older posts I should remove a given 120Ohm resistor from the PCB. I just had a look at the device, measured all the resistors and in my opinion R4 is the one I have to remove to have it fixed. Although I am pretty sure that this is the right resistor, I attach a photo of the PCB for you to have a look at. What is your opinion? Is R4 the right resistor to remove and is there anything else to be done?

Thank you in advance!

Hello Grancharov

Yes this resistor R04 is the right
remove this and you can also read the CAN protocols

Thank you for your quick reply, Eddy!
I'll remove R04 and share the results here! I don't have to make any electrical connection (bridge) after removing the resistor, do I?

Kind regards,

Hello Pavel

No, no solder bridge!

Simply remove Resistor and ready

Hello,

To introduce myself...I am from Norway and driving a Lancia Thesis 2.0T.
Have not seen any Thesis on this forum.

Bought this kit from ebay some time ago. Managed to get the communication working after a while but the ELM v.1.4 adapter is not working. I get a Tx error and the dashboard looks like a christmas tree. VAG and other adapters are ok.
The resistor R04 is removed (from the supplier)

Tested another adapter from a friend and everything works ok.

Any suggestions?
Maybe something wrong with the electronics inside the adapter.....

/Tore

Hello redvxcoupe

With your ELM and the KKL interface you should connect to your ECU can produce.

The green adapter you need for steering, ABS,

I suspect that you are not using the correct driver

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

And look again all the settings and the COM port

Hi Eddy, thank you for quick answer.
I am using Windows 8 and the correct driver, it's working with a friend's older ELM adapter, my pc and all the other cables.
Have also the COM port settings checked.
Have tested a lot with the WAG cable and it's working perfect

Will try to upload a picture of the adapter electronics. Have not seen the same pcb before (it's a lot of pcb layouts :? )

Hello Tore

Oh, so the KKL interface, you can connect?
I had mistranslated

Then it can only lie on the ELM interface, but you said yes that the resistor has been removed by the supplier. ?

But even if your ELM still has this bridge resistance, but a connection to the ECU should be possible.
The ECU is not read via CAN bus

Properly do a few pictures, but here I have now highlighted so many resistors that would have to be attending your

Hi Alfaeddy,

yes, exactly that how it works (or doesn't work). Without A3 it works without problems but with A3 I'm not able to connect to any of modules. I will open it and post here the photo of the board.

Thanks!

Hello aaa456

You do not need to open your ELM interface

If the connection works without the adapter A3.
But with no connection adapter A3

Then the adapter must be broken!

Check it out with a continuity tester if you
the compounds have the wiring diagram
