Post by knack »

I have a Peugeot Boxer 2005 2.8 HDI (same fiat ducato, i connect multiscan to airbag module (and the ECU), all ok, i read errors but can clear that errors.

Errors are "intermitent" not "present" i got that error for have very low battery i think. No increments in the counter

I try disconnecting the battery for a long time trying to remove the errors but nothing hapens. any ideas?

thx and excuse my english.

My car only have one airbag.

I got errors near everything, airbag ligh, pretensioners (3), airbag ecu, etc all intermitent but error counter say "error never happend again" pretenssioners stuck in 183 times...

The problem seems i can't clear the errors.

I visit finally the official mechanical workshops and they can't clear the errors, they must investigate why, not have idea. (not leave the car in workshop)

Maybe airbag ECU is faulty and needs to be reset.
Maybe someohne already did reset of airbag ECU and locked the chip inside.
Maybe something else on that airbag ecu is faulty.

You need special programmer, you need special software for airbag ecu reset.
Read the file, clear it, programme it and then clear fault codes with MES.

But if you car did not had crash before I would advise you to try to read airbag ecu with Peugeot/ Citroen diagnostic equipment or some other universal diagnostic software like autocom.
Since you have Peugeot Boxer maybe your airbag system is more supported with Peugeot diagnostic system.

I think it is cheaper for you to try with some other diagnostic than to buy programmer and software for airbag reset. ;)

i have a eeprom and other roms programmer wich i use por PICS like microchips, i sometimes play with 18f chips and C, isn't something strange for me. (very amateur anyway), i must check if its compatible with the eeprom of the airbag ecu.

I visit my dealer workshop (Peugeot Offical) and a Bosh Service, and they can't clear the errors, they say, "must check all installation". I ask for price and they say that can be take a hour find what up or six hour.
I understand (electrics problem are sometimes hard to find) but i leave 6h X 50€ its a good a mount of money, plus for then only say "you must change de airbag ecu".

Anyway i am thinking ATM in buy a second hand airbag ecu.

thanks for help.

OK! If you have some knowledge about programming than here is solution for you.
Peugeot Boxer airbag ecu should have this # 13 284 470 80.
When you remove airbag ecu check if the number from your airbag ecu matches from one written above.
Inside you should fine 8 pin chip "95080". Read that chip with programmer, post dump here or send me via e-mail and I will clear the crash data for you. ;)
