Alfa Brera 2.4JTDM Service Interval Reset

Just bought the registered software and an ELM327 1.4 interface from Ebay which is premodified to work with Alfa. Connects perfectly with the engine Bosch ECU and I was able to check DTC codes etc and reset the oil ageing counter.

I just need to reset the service interval which is a separate module, but I receive a message that the interface cannot connect. According to tge site vehicle application list I should be able to connect to the Service module with ELM 327 and no adaptor. Because I can connect in OK to the engine module it suggests that the interface is working fine.

Any suggestions or help would be grarefully received.

You probably have problem with your ELM interface. It wont connect to CAN system. Usually resistor R04 is making that problem.
My advice for you is to read this topic: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1493
Please focus on last 10-15 pages because there you will find all photos from different boards and location of that resistor which makes problem.
If you are not sure just ask alfaeddy in that topic and he will help you.

Thanks. I bought an ELM327 1.4 from Ebay that was meant to have been modified. So have opened it up and found tgat it still has the wrong resistor in! Anyhow have removed the resistor and it's all fine.
