Have a 2003 3 door Stilo 1.6 16V Active Sport with a totally inoperative dash, so purchased Multiecuscan v1.3, I have an ELM 327 v1.3 already but bought a ELM 327 v1.4 with modded cable, KL VagCom, and 3 adapter cables, to give me full access.
I am using Windows 7 64bit with the serial/usb driver installed and latency reduced on all 3 usb ports to 1 and baud rate synced with Multiscan at 38400.
All bar the KL are showing (though not relevant to this post) and passing tests.
Accessing the body computer gives the screenshot of error codes below:
Lovely piece of software, very intuitive and refined.
Whilst I would appreciate information for the actual codes listed here (knowing that the "B" designation relates to Body and the "1" to manufacturer specific codes, I am extremely surprised to find no thorough compiled listing for each and every code when it comes to Fiat.
Does anybody have access to such?
Would it be an idea to post such a list for all to access?
Maybe posting on the Multiecuscan website as well?
As a factory Maintenance Electrician I was taught to always trace and repair a fault before clearing any error codes but without knowledge of the "29", "30", "31" and "38" codes this method is not going to be possible!
Anybody any ideas before I do the "F10 Clear" and proxy alignment if necessary?
Why no full Error Code Listings for Fiats?
Re: Why no full Error Code Listings for Fiats?
Which body computer did you select from the list? "Marelli" or "Marelli MF"?
The correct selection for your car should be "Marelli MF". Also, the program should give you error "Invalid ISO code" when you try to connect to the incorrect body computer.
The descriptions for these codes are present in Multiecuscan, but they are only valid for the MF type of body.
Here is what they mean:
B1029 - Serial line W
B1030 - Left number plate light
B1031 - Right number plate light
B1038 - Brake light fuse

Re: Why no full Error Code Listings for Fiats?
Thanks for that Yani, I was indeed in the wrong body computer.
Your predicted results were totally correct, thanks.
Still no result for the Visteon however, which makes me think I'm still doing something wrong, in that the interface with any changeover cable is failing to connect.
Tried to do a proxi alignment to no avail as well, as you can see below!

Well, you have to check the wiring of the dashboard module. Does it have power? Does it have CAN connection?
The easiest way to check if the problem is in the wiring or the dashboard itself is to get another dashboatrd from somewhere and just connect it to the cable to see if it works or not.
