FFlo's Presentation

Post by FFlo »

Hi!

I'm new on this forum, my name is Florent, 29, I'm living in the south of France and my family and myself have a couple of Fiat.

I wanna buy a multiecuscan kit to remove the errors messages we can have on our cars without going to Fiat all the time.

My first objective is to remove the "oil change" message on my father's Fiat Croma '05 2.4 MultiJet 20V. With your forum and the French one too, I think I manage to get the information I needed.

I found on this website that to remove my message, I need to look to look on: Service Interval Reset |INFO|ADJ| ELMOBDKey
I should need
- ELM 327 v1.3+ interface without adapter (unmodified)
- OBDKey 1.40 without adapter (unmodified)

I found that on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ALFA-FIAT-DI ... 204wt_1190

I should not need the adapters and I will maybe have to do the resistors trick in case of compatibility problems.

Could you guys confirm me if I didn't misunderstand everything and that I'm going to buy the right thing for me?

Thanks.

What you write is basically correct.

For the Croma 05 then to reset the Oil Change Reset counter you have to connect to the engine ECU. This can be done with a KKL (VAG COM) cable or and ELM based device. No cable or pin modifications required.

For Service Interval reset then you need to connect to the car's CAN Bus so you need and ELM / similar device.

Hope this helps / confirms your understanding.

If your Fiat Croma '05 2.4 MultiJet 20V is with DPF (I think it is) to reset service and oil message you need to do next:
- open MES > Fiat > Croma '05 2.4 MultiJet 20V > Service > Service Interval Reset > F7 - Adjustments > "Next service km reset" > F10 - Execute
and after that go to
- Fiat > Croma '05 2.4 MultiJet 20V > Engine > Bosch EDC16C39... > F7 - Adjustments > Oil change > F10 - Execute

You will need ELM 327 1.3 or higher version to do oil and service reset. You can find them on eBay. They are cheap.
This interface from link above is just fine. eBay Seller named: buy_me_from_dan is OK seller.

For Oil Change Reset, or any of the Engine ECU functions, then only a KKL/VAG COM device is required. However ELM or better device is of course an added bonus.

Thank you guys, it's really helpful!

I thought that the Oil Change and the Service Interval Reset were the same thing.

I understand that I don't really need the ELM and a KKL would be enough for the Oil Change message; but I'm sure I'll have others problems/messages on the others Fiat of the family, so I'm going to invest in the ELM.

I'm going to order this on Ebay, I'll let u know about my multiecuscan adventure! :D

Again, many thanks!
