Vehicle code

Post by e01 »

Hello,

I just bough a elm327 interface cable, and try multiecuscan trial on my Alfa Romeo 147. When I try to change the alarm mode to something other than '0', the FES requires some vehicle number which I don't have. I bough the car from second hand diller and the only code that I have is for the CD/Radio which is 4 number.

Is there a way to get know the vehicle number?

Regards!

In Europe (excuding UK/GB) then the code(s) are supplied on a Code Card when the vehicle was orginally purchased.

In the UK/GB these code cards are removed on importation of the vechicle.

You will have to visit a Fiat dealer the get your codes.

As far as I know there is no easyway to extract the cards security code from the system and MultiECUScan CAN NOT do this.

What this mean? The dealers owns all codes, or they will reset mine. Because the dealer don't giving me anything like a code or card, just givving me 2 keys.

The Fiat Dealers DO NOT own the codes.

Official Fiat dealers can get the security code, key code and radio codes from FIAT (or as in the UK a National Security Register).

On most cars this code can me calculated from the memory content of the immobilizer control box, but you need special equipment to read it, and special software to calculate the code. Try Googeling "PIN from dump"

If you really want to have this security code to change alarm on you alfa romeo 147 you have next options:
- go to official main Fiat/ Alfa/ Lancia service dealer and order a "CODE card" from them.
You just need to give them VIN number from your alfa and you should get it. I have no idea how much does it cost in Bulgaria
Price for CODE card in Bosnia and Herzegovina is about 60€.
- if you have any relatives or friends in Germany or Austria ask them to order that CODE card for you.
Just give them VIN number from your alfa and you should get it in 5 minutes maximum. It is printed on A4 paper and it costs 25€.
- ask someone who is working with eeprom, someone like who is decoding auto cd players from dump or someone who is working with car tuning…
As already AlfaGTV wrote for that you need special programmers and special software to calculate PIN code from eeprom dump.
It is not easy thing to do if you plan to do it by yourself!
