can a body ecu be repaired, rebooted reset etc etc?
or is the only option a complete body and engine ecu and transponder set swap out?

Pretty sure a body computer can be replaced without having to fit new engine ECU, Key Unit, etc.
Details of how to do it I don't have but I'm sure somebody will know.

i know the body ecu can be supplied new from the factory, pre-programmed from the vin info so that it is plug n play with the engine ecu and key transponders,
but as you might expect this is a lot of money, and comes from italy too i'm told, so its not a quick fix either!
i believe most folk go with a full like for like swap, but it appears to be quite a common failure, so wondered if anyone ever investigated the cause of the failure, a possible repair, and can it be retained and re programmed by multiecuscan?
