Hello,
I have the same ELM327 interface as someone posted before:
The problem is, I cannot connect to my car, which is a '07 Fiat Stilo 1.9JTD Multijet. When I run the test in settings menu everything comes back OK, but when i actually try to connect to the ECU I get "timed out" error. I tried different port speeds and it's always the same - all OK in test, but cannot establish a connection to the ECU.
When I tried Torque (android app) it also connects to the adapter, but cannot establish a connection to the ECU. It seems as that the car doesn't let the connection to happen. I've plugged the ELM tool in another car and it worked perfectly. Can't get it to work on Stilo though; all tests OK, but "operation timed out" when trying to connect to the ECU. I tried all USB ports on my laptop (different COM ports in FES) but nothing helps.

Hello
I Find the image of djbase not, after the move of the forum are probably missing a few pictures and posts.
I need a picture without the white connector on the motherboard to detect a fault.
Only to the motor control of your Stilo so you should be able to connect.
This has nothing to do with the CAN bus error to have some ELM interface.
Greetings Eddy

Hi!
i think that i have the same problemi with both my elm327 usb and bt interfaces: they connect to engine, ABS and steering but don't connect (with Adapter 3) to can.
If i understand right, i shoudl remove R04. Is it right? and if it's right, how can i remove it? I'm very noob in electronic!
in attachment the photo that i took to the bt device
regards

Hello
As with many other ELM with you and the R04 is the resistance of the CAN bus makes mistakes.
Remove the R04 with a soldering iron and gently with pliers
Greetings Eddy
