Thank you TS Yani! I backtracked your steps and found the 120 ohm resistor on my PCB too, removed it, and now it works, even without the prescribed CAN termination. I will terminate the CAN lines properly before I attempt coding. Together with the PL2303 driver build by John Stevinson it is working ...
