Problem with OBDLink MX+, EX

Hi All,

I'm new here, searched around and found some tips, but none of them solved my problem.

I've got a newly registered version of Multi ECU Scan. I tried using it with an OBDLink MX+, but MES wouldn't connect to it. After reading posts here it seemed that USB is better than Bluetooth, so I purchased an OBDLink EX, which arrived yesterday. I can't get that to work either.

Focusing on the EX (USB), I run MES and hit F9 to configure. I go to connections, then interfaces and scan interfaces. It correctly finds the EX. When I hit the test button all tests pass, and I get the message "This interface is compatible with ELM 327 1.4! Should connect properly with all CAN modules."

When I hit F10 to connect to the ECU, it fails with the message "ELM327->ECU Connection failed!".

I tried running the OBDWiz software that comes with the OBDLink readers and it works just fine. But MES fails as above.

Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

bs

No I did not. I'd have loved to try it on another computer but I'm not going to pay for additional licenses to troubleshoot their problems. Zero support, I've lost faith in these guys at this point, sorry to say.

I have and OBDLink SX USB interface and this has always worked for me.

Never used bluetooth with MES.

Which people are you fed up with? MES support or OBDLink support.

If MES have you contacted support directly via Email and also sent them the MES connection log?

I tried the OBDLink device with wifi, bluetooth, and USB wired. None worked. They all connected fine with the OBDLink software, but I got the same error with the MES software.

I did send an email to support, never heard a peep.

I'm sorry / sad you have not had a response from MES Support.

I suggest you try again. Yani is normally pretty good a responding to support Emails.

Please note I'm just the only active moderator here.

It's been two years now. My useless license expired a year ago and I have no intention of sending them any more money.

Your license expiration is just for updates. Your software vehicle support will be as per your last update.

You should get back to MES support again. Don't give up!
