Good evening everyone,

I'm having issues doing a proxy alignment on my 2018 Fiat 500L Lounge. I recently replaced the defective factory radio with the exact same model radio and now my mileage is flashing. Here's the log of the error when I attempt a proxy alignment.

this looks like simple timeout. I'd check MES and adapter settings and do alignment again.

I've check all settings and are correct. I previously did a proxy alignment with my other 2012 Fiat 500 Lounge radio upgrade without any issues, same cable and computer.

I'm new to this but what's a SGW bypass and where can I purchase one?

On some later Fiats a Security Gateway Module (SGW) is fitted. This is connected somewhere in line between the EOBD port and the Engine and some other ECUs. Its purpose is to block WRITE EOBD commands unless a vehicle specific security code is is fitted.

An SGW Bypass is a plug which one inserts in place of the SGW Module.

When I look at your log I see:

Security Gateway Module (SGW) followed later by

Security Gateway Module (SGW) Removed

I don't understand what this second log entry means. Is it supposed to say Security Gateway Module (SGW) Needs to Be Removed or something similar.

I see from your IP address you are probably located in the USA. If so you can get an SGW Bypass from this MES recommended supplier.
