Hi all,

I just tried to update my proxy on a Fiat Tipo 2017 Lounge model, following a guide to activate apple carplay. After doing this, i get a lot of errors. The issue might have been running out of battery while transferring the data.

I now get the error P1218 - Control unit is defective.

I saved the old proxy configuration, which i now tried to transfer and everything seems to go smooth. All EOL is OK for a short while. After a little time they all fails.

But the error doesnt dissappear and my car wont start - Anyone who can help me redo this?

What guide are you referring to?

Have you put the car back to factory standard setup before reloading the original Proxi data?

I used this guide, only changing byte 157 from 00 to 01. (Now changed back to 00)

chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.fiat-lancia.org.rs/Korisno/attivazione-aa-carplay-fiat-tipo-2015-v2.it.en.pdf

No, can you tell me how to put it back to factory standard setup?

I was unsure what you did in total. If you only did what is in the article then I surmise it was:

1) Update uConnect 7 firmware
2) Added extra bytes to your original Proxi data
3) Change bytes as detailed

If you are saying you have tried to restore your original saved proxi data and this does not work then I'm not sure what else you can do.

You could try undoing step 3). That is your original proxi data with the extra padding bytes bytes but don't change any of the others.

If that does not work try your original data again.

It could be that if you updated the uConnect firmware this is where the problem lies. I guess this can not be put back to how it was.

NOTE! I'm not an expert or remotely experienced with MES and changing/custom proxi data so I'm just suggesting possibilities to try as a last but 1 resort.

You may have to get your car to a Fiat dealer as I suspect they are the only people with Fiat Server access where they will in effect do the equivalent of replacing and reprogramming the body computer. You will also have to ensure they have all your keys.

I don't think there is a "factory reset" as such the MES can do.

Did you try to unplug battery for about 5 minutes? (or more)
Is your battery fully charged?
Still has errors?
Share your FES log files for discovery more infos about your problem...
