Multiecuscan

Hi,

I purchased Multiecuscan for use with a 2007 Citroen Jumper X250 2.2 Multijet that I was having airbag ecu problems with. I am using a WIN 10 pro notebook with a OBDLink SX interface. With this combination I was able to do a proxi allignment to register a new airbag ecu to the car. The problem that I am now having is when connecting to "TRW Airbag 2 (Ep - PROXI)" I get following message:

"ELM327->ECU Connection failed! No response from module. Check if Interface is properly connected to the vehicle and vehicle key is ON!"

Does somebody know where this problem could come from?

In your Citroen the Airbag ECU my be connected to a different EOBD connector pin.

Find out which pin it is connected to and then look at the MES adapter wiring diagrams to identify the correct adapter to use,

Unfortuantely I can connect to the airbag ecu without any problems and even erase error codes. This is all possible when connecting to the
"TRW Airbag" module. When trying to connect to the "TRW Airbag 2 (Ep - PROXI)" module though I get the mentioned error that the connection
failed.
If these should be two totally different modules, do you know how I can find out to which EOBD connector pin the "TRW Airbag 2 (Ep - PROXI)"
might be connected?

"Unfortunately" I am able to connect to the "TRW Airbag" module without any problems. The problem only occurs when trying to connect to the "TRW Airbag 2 (Ep - PROXI)" module. According to the supported vehicle list (Jumper X250 2.2 is identical to the Ducato X250 2.2) I do not need an adaptor for this module.

In case this module should be connected to a different EOBD connector pin, do you know where or how I can find out?

I see that for the Ducato 250 2.2 there are two airbag modules listed.

Your vehicle will I think ONLY have one or the other airbag module fitted and not both.

The fact that you can connect to the TRW Airbag means that this is the module fitted to your Ducato.

It is very common on some vehicles to have 3, 4 or more Engine ECUs listed but of course only one will be applicable.

You can run a Scan with MES and this will list the available modules/ecus/nodes. Should only be listing one airbag ECU.

Now that you say it I think you could be right. For the Ducato 2.2 a module named "Air suspension control Continental" is also listed as a module available and it also shows in MES. When trying to connect though I get the same error message since this module is not present in my car.
Unfortunately some of the parameters available in TRW Airbag 2 are the second reason why I initially bought MES. I did think I would be able to view these parameters with MES since a Fiat garage was able to view things like driver pretensioner resistance, driver's seat belt switch present etc with the Fiat software. Guess that's where the differences lie.

I'll just let the scan for available modules run the next time I get to the car sometime the next few days.
