Alfa 156 Xenon full-MES Support

Post by Modano »

Hi
I used a trial version of MES (4.2) to connect to my 156's OEM Xenon (Bosch AL).
Using the VAGCOM KKL and the yellow plug , the scan could find one ECU , but I can connect to both, even in Trial mode.
Both have proper codes and mfg dates so definitely not random values.

On both screens, in trial mode, I could only see the Info and Graph tabs, not parameters or actuators, although they are supposed to be working in the full version.
Can someone confirm that the full version will show the advanced settings and actuators (ie height, or any self tests ?) ?

Thanks !

It is the GREEN adapter plug A1 that is required, not the yellow [A3].

Also would suggest MES 4.5.

Hi,
thanks you were right :
bare (without interposer) for the ECU
green (A1) for Xenon, Climate and ABS
red (A2) for airbags

Oddly, when I scan with the green I only get the right Xenon, while I can connect to both.
But as I stated, this may be related to the fact my left Xenon is not working...
Also, I still have no extra tab appearing with 4.5 for left and right Xenon. But once again, I think this is the limitation, right ?

PS : when I connect to the Bosch ABS 5.7 VDC, I got all the warning lights up (ABS/EBD/VDC failures), although I can query all. I saw similar behaviors in the posts but not sure if this is expected. Anyway so far I have nothing to check on this side ;)

When connecting to some systems and especially ABS and Airbag then the dash will light up like a Christmas tree. When you finally disconnect then all the lights should go out. If not then power cycle the ignition and all should return to normal. If not then there is an error which MES should pick up.

I've not personally played/tested the Xenon functions of MES so can not really say what is normal or not. Sorry.
