Advice please on a strange Multiecuscan result

Hi all a while ago I posted a question about a strange result on Multiecuscan,
My vehicle is a 2102 Doblo 263, 1.3 multijet with DPF, and a engine type A2000
the question was regarding a sub section in “PROXI ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE” under engine type it states Gasoline !!! my van is most defiantly diesel.
Should I change the very wrong setting back to diesel and possibly risk a faulty proxi alignment or leave it well alone, the van has not long had a MOT and the vehicle emissions where all fine, but I cannot help but think that having that setting in a diesel van must have some adverse effect within the various computer modules within the van.
I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this “fault” and if indeed it might cause some adverse effect and needs to be changed.
Thanks again

Hi,

I’ve got exactly the same situation, i’ve got gasoline showing on the confit but have a diesel. My vehicle is a 2009 Qubo. I wondered if it was a bug and like you
Am uncertain of the best course of action.

Is a Moderarator able to give a suggestion ?

A bit of a thread resurrection - but likewise - I have the same issue occurring with my 2013 Fiat Ducato X250 2.3L 130PS Automatic.

Multiecuscan connects and appears to work as normal. I'm using an ELM cable with appropriate adapters and am seeing no other connection issues. I have chosen "Fiat Ducato (type 250) Facelift 2.3 Mutlijet" as the vehicle type but when I go to the PROXI alignment, It suggests that the vehicle is configured as Gasoline rather than diesel.

I'm unsure whether this screen is showing "defaults" based on the vehicle suggestion or whether it is showing the current vehicle config - or, as others have suggested, whether this could be a bug in the software.

I am nervous to run the PROXI alignment without understanding if this means it is going to write an incorrect value into the vehicle ECU. I could change the setting from Gasoline to Diesel, but don't want to introduce a new error or break something! I could ignore it, but that could potentially mean I write 'Gasoline' over an existing 'Diesel' value if it is simply displaying incorrectly.

I have emailed support@multiecuscan.net with a question about this. So far these are the only two other posts I can find online from others having the same issue.

Can anyone familiar with MES comment, or did either of the previous posters find out any more?

Just to follow up on this - I received a response from Multiecuscan support confirming that, for my vehicle at least, this setting is no longer used - and so changing it or leaving it should have no impact.

I decided not to change it, ran the PROXI Alignment and all is well :)
