REMOVING
- Put the car on the lift
1. Remove the retaining clip and release the brake fluid pipe.
2. Release the parking brake wiring.
3. By applying counter-torque to the nut (1a), undo the lower screws (1b) fixing the brake calliper
- Remove all traces of glue from the side tabs and on the brake calliper piston.
Avoid using degreasing agents that are not compatible with the rubber parts of the brake calliper.
Turn the calliper and remove the brake pads.
Remove the sliding clips.
REFITTING
- Clean the sliding clip housings on the bracket.
Avoid using degreasing agents that are not compatible with the rubber parts of the brake calliper.
- Fit the new sliding clip on the bracket.
Place the brake pads in their housings.
The shoe on piston side (inner vehicle) is provided with a blade for indicating wear. The letter “B” indicates the ends for fixing the sliding clips.
The outer vehicle shoe has letters “A” printed on the ends for fixing the sliding clips.
Connect the diagnostic equipment to the diagnostic socket and go to “BSM/EPB control module”. Go to the “actuators” menu and start the “maintenance mode” procedure.
Start the “brake calliper piston retraction” procedure.
After fitting the brake calliper, start the “electric parking brake assembly check” procedure.
Using the pneumatic tool (1a), retract the cylinder (1b) of the rear brake calliper.
Put the brake calliper back in its housing applying reaction to the nut and tighten the new lower screw to the prescribed torque fastening it to the bracket.
- Engage the parking brake wiring.
- Engage the brake fluid pipe with the retaining clip.
Remove the car from the lift.
