Chinese ELM 327 Timeout problem

Hi guys,
I bought one of those Chinese ELM 327 V1.5 that presents the known timeout problem, so I decided to dig deeper on the bench to see the real problem (I'm electronic engineer).
The hardware I have is this one:
When I click on "Test" I see below screen failing for ATSPC command with phrase: "The operation has timed out".
But if I send this command manually using any prompt terminal, such as TeraTerm or RealTerm, it works, so I believe this problem could be fixed by changing the timeout property on the software. Does anyone know if is it possible to change it on the MultiEcuScan software? I looked everywhere and couldn't find. I tried the "High Latency Mode", changed the low speed on the device manager com port properties and nothing helped...
