EOL and Proxy Alignment

Post by cogitare »

Hi everyone.
I recently purchased a 2006 Brera. I replaced the head unit, and also the climate control panel as it had an intermittent fault. The odometer began flashing, and a quick search on the internet told me it was due to a CANBUS issue. A check of the vehicle with Multiecuscan indicated the radio was missing - correct it and been replaced with a new shiny Alpine head unit, and the Climate control showed an EOL Failure.

I assume EOL failure means that a Proxy realignment is required.

The previous owner has lost the 5 digit security code, and I was therefore nervous about performing a realignment as I understand this may mean the code has to be entered.

Is this true or can a realignment be performed without the code? If I need it Ill have to contact Alfa, I just don't want to risk the realignment without it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
