Problem connecting to Ecu

Hi I have just joined the forum and I am looking to solve a connection problem

I have a KKl {switched } cable & the free version of Multiscan. My computer runs windows 10.

My problem is I cannot connect to the engine ECU.

Any advice/help would be appreciated
