Well as you say year 2006 then it should be the Grande Punto.
You don't give much info (like engine size (1.2 or 1.4), or model code e.g 199.133) so it is hard to be certain.
However MES does support Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 & 1.4 8V engines (check the table for yourself looking for Grande Punto and not just Punto)
Looking at the Grande Punto then all module are in RED so you will need a license as anything in RED is not supported in the free version of MES.

sorry about the lack of info - this is the car
FIAT PUNTO ACTIVE 8V, 2002-2006, 1242cc, 3 door hatchback, Manual, Petrol year 2006 - reg = 06
so its not a grande punto

Well for anybody to be precise we we need the vehicles actual model code / chassis number.
You can post your full chassis number here *LESS* the last 8 digits (for security/privacy) or you can PM me your full chassis number and I will also be able to give you much additional information about you car.

i know this is probably going to sound silly, not sure where my log book is, will this be on a plate under the bonnet or hidden under the carpet somewhere?

Plate under the bonnet and possibly under the carpet through a lift up inspection flap.
For security reasons I suggest you send me a personal message with the VIN number. I can than look this up and tell you interesting stuff like what year and month your car was manufactured.
And before anybody asks I can't get any security type information. Only reason I say PM me for security reasons is that the posting of full VIN information in a public forum is not good practice or advisable.
