Hi there people, newbie here so please bare with me. I have just purchased my multiecuscan from the friendly gendan lads, and am now looking into what i can do with it.

I have just been playing with the simulation mode and am just wondering about the proxy alignment. Does this really require the original pin code?

Also what trick little mods can it do? All of our family for our sins have got fiat and alfa's.

Cheers in advance guys, Matt.

Welcome Matt

If you have been running in simulation mode then you will have a pretty good idea as to what "coverage" you get across your family's cars.

Proxy alignment does not require the vehicles pin code. However as mentioned in the proxy instructions/information the alarm system and how the indicators and beep sounds work may/will be reset to the default factory setting. This means that your indicators & beeps could be different to what you currently have or are used to now and to reset these back you will require the vehicles pin code.

The vehicle pin code is only required for vehicle security type functions. e.g. alarm settings, remote key coding (and if available emergency start).

Regarding emergency start i.e. ability to start the car without a functioning key I'm not sure on what, if any, vehicles support this feature. Could be a dealer equipment only function.

MES does not currently support key programming (which also requires the vehicle pin). This is a deliberate design/support decision by the author because if you get it wrong then you will be left with a dead and immobilised vehicle which to recover from will require a dealer/equivalent intervention and some money as well.

Regarding tricks/mods then not many really. Mods is really confined to the proxy alignment where some people have added things like cruise control modules from donor vehicles to their own. The proxy alignment then "adds" that new module to the cars body computer support/systems.

With the exception of performing a proxy alignment then MES is totally benign / non damaging.

Bottom line is MES is really a diagnostic and repair tool only.
