Connecting to a seicento 899 s

Post by matthijs_boef »

Hi all,

Today I purchase the multiecuscan software because we own 2 fiats. One punto hgt jtd which had an annoying "in need of service" message (I service the car myself) and just successfully reset the interval. The other car (or means of transportation because the word car is a bit to fancy for it) is a seicento 899. Because I would like to check if the temperature sensors make sense I would like to connect my Ecuscan software to it, unsuccessful so far...

I have this setup:
odb.jpg
odb.jpg (16.31 KiB) Viewed 2790 times
An unbranded I think ELM 327 1.3+ cable (it works with these settings in my punto) and a ODB to 3 wire odb cable.

I hookup all the cables, connect the red wire to the + of the battery, switch on the ignition, try to connect...nothing

Same if I turn on the engine, nothing.

Can someone point me to the right direction?

Thanks!!

Hi Mathijs

For your Seicento 899 you need a different interface
namely a KKL interface or the more expensive OBDkey
This ELM interface works only with your Punto

Thanks,

Ordered a KKL interface on ebay! I will post success or fail here.

I hope to find watertemp sensor readings and be able to set outputs since the cooling fan does not switch on. I got the car with a leaking head gasket.. nothing bad, just a corroded gasket from a 16 year old seicento.

Hello Matthew

Have you checked the fuse and relay?
