EDC15C7 charge air temperature

Post by stellwagenc »

hello,

i have a fiat stilo with 1.9 JTD 8V 115HP.

My stilo get a remap and we found in the ecu a map for the charge air temperature. This will be not used by 8V JTD but we want to use it. Problem: we can't read out the values of these map. We connected the MAP Sensor (with air Temperatur sensor) to PIN 96 of the EDC15C7 ecu.

PIN 93 - MAP Pin 1
PIN 94 - MAP Pin 3
PIN 95 - MAP Pin 2
PIN 96 - empty (now with MAP Pin 4)

Do you have informations about this map?
Is it possible to enable this value in MES?

Best regards
Christopher

I do not know very well about ECUs, maps and remapping so maybe I am wrong...
But as far as I know ECUs when have been made, at that time, they have been very modern.
Today when we are looking back on those ECUs we seen some bug and developers could done better but they did not.
I think developers did not done all the best because they did want to make another generation of ECs so they can later sell to big factories (Fiat/Alfa/VW...) and get more money later... :D

So I think it is possible in the MES to add this option for reading those values but problem can be still present in ECU because ECU for examples missing some chips or missing some higher/lower capacitors/resistor.
And at the end we can not see those values with MES because in there is ECUs something that is missing...
For example we asked for Yani to add options for reading separate injector values in EDC15 ECUs.
And at the and we have those values in MES but ECU does not read it. It is 0 (zero) value always.

I hope I wrote it OK so you can understand.

Yes, i understand you and thank you for your answer.

I know the EDC15C7 is a pice of shit, but we do the best of it :-)

Every VW/Skoda with EDC15 read out the charged air temperature... This is painful for FIAT...

But i think we have found a good way at the alfaowners forum to read out the charged air temperature. It's a switch between MAF and MAP-Sensor.

Are you sure?

This ECU is used in Marea '01 JTD 110/CF3 too (right?), and the Marea Technical Manual (PIN-out) says...

...
84 Coolant temperature sensor (pin 1)
85 Coolant temperature sensor (pin 2)
86 Air flow meter (pin 1)
87 Not connected
88 Air flow meter (pin 3)
89 Air flow meter (pin 5)

90 Fuel pressure sensor (pin 3)
91 Fuel pressure sensor (pin 2)
92 Fuel pressure sensor (pin 1)
93 Turbo pressure sensor (pin 1)
94 Turbo pressure sensor (pin 3)
95 Turbo pressure sensor (pin 2)
96 Not connected
97 Air flow meter (pin 4)
98 Not connected
99 RPM sensor (pin 1)
...

Not a MAP, but a MAF sensor.

Yes, but we want to use a 4-Pin MAP-Sensor and not an MAF-Sensor.

With a 4-Pin MAP-Sensor you can read out the charged air temperature.

Sorry, but my english is very poor: I don't understand "charged air temperature" X "Air temperature" or "Air temperature signal" present in MES

Yes you are right! I understand what you saying... :D
But unfortunately there is no perfect car for me now...
Some VWs have more options with some things than Fiats and vice versa...
