Bosch 8 on Panda 1.3 JTD

Hi
I am not sure if this is a bug of something I am doing wrong.
I have successfully used Multiecuscan for a year or more now on a Panda 1.3 Diesel Multijet (2006) and have had no problems.
I recently wanted to flush the brake fluid from the ABS systems so bought some cables and connected the green cable. Multiecuscan happily connects with the Bosch 8 ABS. However the programme keeps falling over in various ways.
1. If I go to the parameters setting and click on say the front left load valve Multiecuscan will disconnect.
2. If Multiecuscan does stay connected to the ABS and if I click on a second entry then the status is blank. If I then switch to the Acutator tab then it randomly disconnects.
3. If I do manage to get past both of the above and try to activate the load valve then Multiecuscan generally immediately hangs.
4. Finally if I get past all of the above, then despite it stating that the process has been completed, the status has not been changed on the screen.
5. At this point Multiecuscan once again disconnects. I have never got any further than this point.
6 .If I go straight to the Acutator tab and simply activate a load valve straight off, Multiecuscan will either disconnect or hang.
I would welcome any ideas on how to get over this problem
Thanks
