Hi everybody! I have aFiat Punto 1.2 16V 59kw, 80CP from 2001 and I have a problem: Can I use the ecuscan software to reset the computer to connect the new ecu and Immo? After a litle fire in my car, ECU just was burned and I replaced. After that my engine not starting .... And some friends told me to use a software to fix that.

So - The Engine computer not see the ECU and also the Key ... and IMMO ---- ECUSCAN can fix that?

Before you take my answer here to be gospel truth I would wait for some other posts as well.

I don't think MultiECUScan can help you for the following reasons.

1) MultiECUScan can not program keys (however AlfaOBD can - http://www.alfaobd.com/)
2) The Fiat immobilser / security system basically starts with two "virgin" units. The engine ECU and the Keycode Unit. When connected and the ignition is switched on for the first time (in the factory) these two unit handshake with each other and then marry and lock themselves to each other. You can not swop/exchange ECUs or keycode units unless one of them is a "virgin" un-programmed unit. MultiECUScan has no ability to virginise either the ECU or the keycode unit. Also to my knowledge even a Fiat dealer with the manufacturer's Examiner/WiTechPlus hardware and software can not reset an ECU or keycode unit to a virgin unused state)

It is possible to get virgin replacement ECUs (normally repair exchanges) or a new ECU from Fiat (= very expensive). Failing that you will need to get the ECU and Keycode unit from another doner car and then have your keys programmed into the system.

Thanks bro! I have some people in Romania and they do that, but I don't know what software use to do that ( to conect the ECU + IMOO + and engine computer). They do that for 100 pounds to fix this problem. That why I ask if the ECUSCAN can do that ... anyway, I will see this days. Interface + software comming and I will try it.

Anyway I miss London! After 2 and half years in Upminster ... pffff alot a friends left in UK, ....Pacha, MOS, The Artesian Well ... nice clubs!
Cheers! Johnny T
