airbag errors not clearing

Hi,
I have purchased version of multiecuscan for my 2002 Doblo 1.9 Diesel JTD. Connected with KKL/Vagcom & red/green/yellow leads.
Had a failing battery when the airbag red warning light came up. (the yellow passenger light is not illuminated)
Changed battery. Can see all the airbag errors on multiecuscan but the software does not clear them.
Checked all return/neutral connections.

I was expecting all the errors to clear and then reappear if they happened again.
Is there cases when Multiecuscan cannot clear them? Do I need to go to Fiat garage instead?
Could the airbag Control unit be broken? (although you can still connect to it?)
If I replaced it would it be a straight swap or will it need matching up with main ECU?

Errors are:
--------------------------------------------
14 passenger air bag exclusion switch -Plausible - intermittent - 4 (this is a new fault in last couple of days)
01 Control Unit fault - unknown/ internal - intermittent - 193
05 passenger airbag off lamp - unknown/ no power supply - intermittent -49
1A Airbag control light - unknown/ no power supply - intermittent - 49
02 ECU supply voltage - value too low - 69
---------------------------------------------

MOT due in a week so need to sort out.
Any help/advice will be much appreciated.

Answers:
1. Yes, there is only one case when MES can not clear the airbag errors.
That case is when airbags have been open - car had crash or an accident.
2. No you do not need to go to Fiat main garage because if car did not had crash it can bee cleared with MES if car did not had crash.
3a. Yes, sometimes can be problem with airbag ECU but only if you had airbag light permanently on in past 6-9 months.
3b. Yes, when car had crash and airbags have been opened… even after that when some airbags are missing (opened) you can connect to airbag ecu. You will see where is the problem - on which airbag.
4. If you plan to change airbag ecu you need airbag which has same production number.
For Doblo Fiat produced next airbag ecus:
- 550 90 34 00 Autoliv
- 550 90 35 00 Autoliv
- 550 92 15 00 Autoliv
- 607 14 16 00 Autoliv
- 608 67 36 00 Autoliv 51772803 AE
- 608 67 37 00 Autoliv 51772804

I hope it would be helpful... ;)

Thanks for the reply.

However, the car has not been in a crash and it appears the errors are just from a low battery.
The air bag failure light has only been on for last 4 weeks or so.

So I still have the problem that MES is not able to clear the errors.

The airbag ECU appears to still be functioning as it has allows me to connect to it and a new error has appeared in last couple of days.

Any suggestions as to what I do next? physically reset the airbag ecu by opening it up and shorting out a link ? (or whatever has to be done)

Any ideas on next step ?

If your airbag system was working few months ago without any problem and airbag light just came on few weeks ago I would advise you to do next:
1. Connect MES and Doblo's airbag ecu. Try to delete the all errors.
If does not work than try to disconnect MES from airbag ecu, turn ignition off, wait for 10 seconds, turn ignition on, connect MES and airbag ecu and try to delete the all errors.
It after that does not work try to repeat same procedure at least 5-10 times.

If you still have same errors after 10 tries, then it is definitely problem in passenger switch. So try to do next:
2. Turn ignition off. Go to passenger switch and see in which position it is. If the switch is turned on then insert key inside and turn it off. Than turn ignition on, connect MES and airbag ecu and try to delete the all errors.

If you still have same errors try to do next:
3. Turn ignition off. Go to passenger switch and insert key inside and turn it on and off few times (turn left, turn right - few times). Than turn ignition on, connect MES and airbag ecu and try to delete the all errors.

If you still have same errors try to do next:
4. Turn ignition off. Go to passenger switch and take it out from that side of dash board. Disconnect the connector from the switch and reconnect it again. If you have electronic cleaner spray you can spray it on both connectors to clean them and then reconnect it back. Than turn ignition on, connect MES and airbag ecu and try to delete the all errors.

With this last option you should delete at least some errors...

Thankyou for replying.
I tried everything you suggested and it still remains in error state.

I also unplugged the battery and left without power for 19hours.

I can only think the airbag Airbag ECU is broken.

I agree with you! If you could not clear the errors with advices mentioned above, then it is definitely problem with the ecu.
You need to reprogram it or you need to buy used one or new one...
