Hello,

Recently i did an ecu scan to my fiat brava IAW49F but the last time when i did it I connected the + wire to the - of the car battery and the - of the pin connector to the + of the car battery. The result was a melted insulation of the black (-) wire of the 16 to 3 pin connector, after that I managed to connect to my ecu but for some reason the last time i tried to do it I couldn't. I checked with a multimeter the 16 to 3 pin connector and everything seems to be ok . I changed all the drivers downloading new ones from the internet. Unfortunately I can not connect to the ecu. The cable I use is vag-kom 401 and the software is multiecuscan 2.3.1. on windows XP. All the settings are done strictly like shown in the instructions but I keep receiveing a message to check my settings. If it does any matter - I have tried to install Lexia on my laptopo but I have never connected a diagnostic cable for PSA vehicles. After I experienced this problem i uninstalled lexia and installed new drivers VTD and frameserver 4.0 .Can anyone help me? I need to know is my cable working or not, i opened the blue case of the cable but it looks ok, there are no visual damages. Whe I tried to connect to the ecu the light works ok, the software of the computer recognized it too. menawhile I purchased an elm 327 cable. Will i be able to clean errors on my airbag with it ?

Thank you in advance !

Unfortunately with the ELM 327 you can not connect to airbag ecu...
For airbag ecu you need an VAG KKL 409...

Hello

Just like alfa156 sarajevo writes.
To read the airbag one KKL interface is imperative

But there should not be a problem to connect to the Ecu with Elm 327 , right? If this is so, that means that in this way I will find ouf finally where is the problem.

Hello chudy033

Check the settings!
as
- driver
- Com port
- Latency Time

And slightly more accurate description would be helpful to your vehicle :) :)

Greetings Eddy
