Looks like either the exclusion switch is being mis-reported or the screen display is mis-interpreting the info. When the switch is OFF ie airbag is enabled/on, MES is showing the switch as ON, but the light indication is correctly OFF. When the switch is turned ON (airbag OFF), MES shows switch as OFF and light ON.

It's just the problem with label... it would be enough to omit the word 'exclusion' in the label concerning the switch - so it would state 'Passenger AirBag Switch'. The switch has two positions ON and OFF, at the ON position the passenger airbag is ON.
