FES 3.5 Problem

Posted: 18 Apr 2012, 11:36
by Gavra
Today I download version 3.5 registered version and it kills all my USB ports :@ I thought it was something with Windows so I did a system restore but USB ports are still dead. Then I download fresh copy on my desktop and installed FREE version and it kills USB ports on desktop too.... :roll: :evil:

netbook with registered version is DELL1018 with W7 on it and desktop is XP SP3 ...so its not related to system.......after that I received error COM PORT 3 access is denied.....I send report from both computers using red banner in FES interface.

Hope there will be solution soon.......

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

here is windows log of error btw now I CANT use OPCOM,VCDS on this netbook also and they are licensed too........

I think I deserve reply ......

The reason for not answering is probably because noone has an answer...
Anyway, I don't know how it is possible for any software to kill the USB ports. Also, any problem caused by a software should be resolved when you restart the computer.
Are you sure that it is not some kind of virus, or driver updates which have caused this problem?

yes I am sure this is not caused by any kind of virus. Everything works fine until I start FES.....first attempt to connect on a car or test interface I get ERROR COM3 access is denied....and nothing else can be plug after that.....just don't see USB port. When I manually remove FES from registry after uninstall then it works until I install it again.....I have been trying that for 2 days now and found pattern . I don't know why that is happening because everything worked fine until update to version 3.5...... if u need more info tell me which log to capture and I will send it to You. Until now I was very satisfied with FES compatibility on W7 platform ....I know this is a minor bug but it's kind of annoying ....
