Error connect with ADAPTER 3 to ECU but without perfectly!

I need urgent help on the following Problem:

I can connect to the Engine ECU but not the the body computer or any device that needs the yellow adapter cable.
The Car is a Fiat grande Punto 1.4 8V from late 2008.

I just bought:
- ELM327 bluetooth device on Amazon http://www.amazon.de/Bluetooth-Interfac ... B004YG7J2I
- the yellow Adapter cable from Elektronik Fuchs the official distributor recommended on the webpage.
- a licenced version of multiecuscan.

I run a test + a scan everything works fine and says I can connect to the ECU and read CAN, so I guess I dont have to take out any resistor.

Here a scan result:

Scanning ...

Engine
Magneti Marelli IAW 5SF3 CF4/EOBD Injection (8V)
ISO Code: 0D 07 D6 04 43

ABS
Bosch ABS 8 ESP
ISO Code: EC 07 01 83 4C

Electric Steering
Delphi Electric Steering
ISO Code: 31 83 8A 04 97

COMPLETED

Within these section I can do everything just fine, but none of the others that need the yellow cable.
It always brings up the Error message: ELM327->ECU Connection failed

Is there any reasonable explanation for that, except that the cable might be faulty?

Urgent Help appreciated... this is driving me nuts!
(And after spending 90 bucks on that I am quite disappointed)

Thanks to all

I had the same problem:

I also bought a second ELM from a FES advertised shop but I never got it working with the adapter.

The "resistor" problem is the only explanation in this case.
Grande Punto has 2 CAN networks - high speed and low speed.
The engine, abs and eps are connected to the high speed CAN, while all other modules are connected to the low speed CAN.
The termination resistor does not interfere with the high-speed CAN and it is workin fine even if the resistor is present. Actually this resistor is recommended by electric engineers for stable communication on high-speed CAN.
The low-speed CAN, however, cannot function properly when this termination resistor is present.

If your ELM interface has a power LED on it, try plugging the ELM into the car through the Adaptor 3 cable while NOT connected to the PC.
If the power LED doesn't come on then it's not making an electrical connection with either pin 16 (+12) or pins 4 & 5 (ground).
We've seen a few cases where the plastic/rubber around the pins on the adaptor cables can deform, preventing the adaptors from being pushed into the port far enough to make a connection. If that's the case, manually manipulate the plastic/rubber surround to the right shape before you plug it in.
