Lancia Thesis EPB

I´m owner of an early Lancia Thesis since december 2011. I did a lot of small electronic repair on this lovely car. Most things were unspectacular! But one thing I read a lot about is the Electronic Parking Brake! I do not know the nam of the engineer that found that the EPB has to close every time you stop the engine or open the door. I just know that I would prefer an EPB that I can use just manualy if I want to. Bavarian winters and the EPB of my Thesis are no friends...

Now my question:
Does exist any possibility to access the EPB ecu? And switch of the automatic mode (as you can do it in the Connect menu, but there only for one time)?

Hello,

I have problems with the EPB too, but I still think its intended functionality is perfect. Too bad the implementation has its anomalies. Anyway, I suggest not to disable the automatic function, but try to repair it. There are some great looking advice here: http://www.thesis-treffen.de/index.php? ... &Itemid=22

I've already replaced the battery (which is a standard sealed lead acid battery, mine cost 9,90 eur). That didn't help, so I'm going to try the other tips as soon as the Nordic winter recedes.

On topic: I've understood that the EPB reset devices for VAG cars should be compatible with Thesis, too. That indicates it should be possible to access the EPB via the CAN bus. That's also what the eLearn is telling. I'll thumb up a feature request for EPB fault reading.
